Without Love, the gift is dead and lifeless. Without Love, the gift is dry and brittle. Without Love, the gift has no purpose. Love is the water that will make it grow. Love is the food that will make it mature. Love is the essence that will bring the gift to life. Love is the key.

The Adventure Begins...

Hello everyone!

My name is Sarah. Welcome to Adventures in Lens Land!

In January of 2013 I discovered the lovely concept of photo-tennis over at Libby and Deb's Photo Tennis Project. Their photos were really inspiring and I liked the concept, but I wasn't sure if I knew anyone who would be interested in participating in photo-tennis with me.

Fast forward to January of 2015. I spent time with my good friend Tiffany and we talked a little bit about photography. I realized that she would be the perfect person to do a photo-tennis project with. I explained the idea and she agreed to participate.

I am by no means a professional photographer, but I do enjoy photography. When I pick up my camera I am able to document little moments in life. Photography has taught me many lessons. It has taught me to slow down and really look at the world around me. It has helped me see people in new ways. It has showed me how meaningful a single image can be to someone. Photography has also taught me that a camera has the ability to evoke memories and emotions of a moment that are interwoven into an image like threads of a tapestry.

In this project we will each take turns posting a photo. The only rule is that the photo we post, when it is our turn, must take inspiration from at least one element of the previous photo that was posted on the blog. These elements will range from color, object, theme, and so on. (So, for example, if one of us posts a picture of a flower the other person might post a picture of a floral printed dress.) We will be picking up our cameras and looking at the world through a lens. My hope for this project is that Tiffany and I will document many little tapestries of life.

We hope you'll join us as we adventure through Lens Land and share what we see!

-Sarah

Hello world!

I am excited that you are visiting this delightful little project my friend and I are participating in. My name is Tiffany, and I have been a photography nerd for quite some time. However, due to life, I haven't had much of a chance to pick up my camera recently. And thus, this project was born; to re-inspire and restore a love and passion for capturing an image.

Photography is much more than just capturing an image, it is preserving a memory. We create memories by living them, but over time, with age, and with new memories filling out minds ever second, we sometimes forget details and fragments of these memories which we wish to cherish and hold dear forever. Capturing these moments in an image can help us recall and retain these memories, keeping them fresh and clear in our minds. Pictures are history; they are moments in the past which were recorded and preserved through an shot. Isn't that just wonderful?

My main goal for this project is to renew my creativity; to discover, create, capture, and explore. I'm excited to venture on this journey, and I'm so pleased you've chosen to take a peak. I hope you continue this journey with us, and maybe, just maybe, you can be inspired as well. So, in the words of one of my favorite fantasy characters (Yep, I'm a nerd, expect nerd things) Bilbo Baggins, "I'm going on an adventure!"
